Texas College is a private, faith-based HBCU founded in 1894 by ministers of the then-Colored Methodist Episcopal Church (now Christian Methodist Episcopal, CME). The College frames a classic liberal-arts experience around small classes and a values-forward campus culture, with academics organized into four divisions (Business & Social Sciences; Education; General Studies & Humanities; Natural & Computational Sciences). Academically, Texas College offers 12 bachelor’s and 2 associate degree programs ranging from Biology and Computer Science to Religion and Social Work; teacher prep programs in Interdisciplinary Studies lead to multiple state certification tracks.
