For 13 years, Post & Beam stood as a landmark spot in South L.A., serving California soul comfort food with community spirit. Operated by Chef John Cleveland and wife Roni, the menu featured signature dishes like shrimp & grits, wood‑fired pizza, catfish hash, and deviled eggs with smoked catfish that earned them acclaim and a repeat presence in LA Times’ top 101 restaurants.

Though the Baldwin Hills location is closing to make way for redevelopment, Post & Beam isn’t disappearing entirely. Catering, pop‑ups, and future hospitality projects are planned. The brand retains its legacy—community-focused events, the Black Pot series, and hopes to return once the new Crenshaw Plaza complex opens.
