Bethune-Cookman University

Enter to Learn, Depart to Serve

Bethune-Cookman University, located in Daytona Beach, Florida, is a place where education and service go hand in hand. Founded by the legendary Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, the university is steeped in a tradition of leadership, empowerment, and community engagement. Students here are encouraged to dream big and make a difference.

At B-CU, you’ll find a close-knit campus community and a faculty dedicated to your success. Whether you’re interested in the sciences, arts, or business, you’ll have the support and resources you need to thrive. Bethune-Cookman is more than a university—it’s a family that prepares you to serve and lead.

Founded by Mary McLeod Bethune in 1904, B-CU pairs a liberal-arts core with career-focused pathways and a values-forward campus culture. The motto—“Enter to Learn. Depart to Serve.”—still shows up in day-to-day advising, service, and student life. As of July 7, 2025, Dr. Albert Mosley serves as president, signaling a push on student success and institutional momentum.

On the field, the Wildcats compete in NCAA Division I (FCS) — SWAC. In the stands and the streets, the Marching Wildcats (“The PRIDE”) keep the culture turned up. Academically, standouts include the College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Honors options, and strong student-service infrastructure—career coaching, counseling/wellness, and residence life with a defined first-/second-year residency model. Translation: tight community, clear supports, and a brand that knows what it stands for.
