Alabama State University, located in Montgomery, Alabama, is a prestigious HBCU dedicated to academic excellence and empowering students to become leaders in their communities and professions.

Founded in 1867, Alabama State University (ASU) is a comprehensive, SACSCOC-accredited institution offering degrees from bachelor’s through doctorate. Signature strengths include health sciences (DPT, OTD), Prosthetics & Orthotics (MSPO), arts, STEM, business, and the W.E.B. Du Bois Honors Program. The university is led by its 15th president, Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr. (in office since Oct. 2017). 

ASU is home to the Mighty Marching Hornets and the plus-size dance line Honey Beez, with spirited traditions anchored by the Magic City Classic (vs. Alabama A&M) and the Turkey Day Classic. The Hornets compete in NCAA Division I (FCS) within the SWAC; campus features include ASU Stadium and public radio station WVAS 90.7 FM. The National Center for the Study of Civil Rights & African-American Culture is also on campus.
